Free Comic Book Day FAQ

So what is Free Comic Book Day?

It’s a day every year when comic book shops hand out free comics to people.  It’s not compulsory, you don’t get arrested by the comic shop police if you don’t do it, but pretty much every shop does.

Are the comics actually free?

Yes.  We will have 18 different titles that we will be giving out.

Ah, so not everything?

No, you can’t just come in and pick stuff off the shelves and walk out.  That’s still against the law.

So what can I get?

Just by coming into the shop you can pick out one comic to take away for free!  If you buy anything (and I mean anything) then you can take another two!

Conan - Tides of the Tyrant King

Mega Man Showdown Special

Supernatural #1

Mind Management Fort Psycho Special

Spidey & His Amazing Friends #1

How many free comics will you have?

About 700 across those titles

Do you have any idea how busy it will be?

Last year it was pretty busy, but we still had comics left on the Sunday - so don't worry too much if you can't make the Saturday.  We'll have a quieter Sunday but we'll still have things available.

Obviously some titles will be more popular than others, so if your heart is set on a particular thing then try to get here on Saturday.

What happens if I arrive and the title I want is gone?

It’s strictly first come, first served.  We won’t reserve anything.  We open at 10am.

I guess that this is a really big day in the comic shop calendar, what else will you be doing?

We’ve got surprise bags of 3 or 7 comics, that you can buy for either £5 or £10, and we'll have sweets to give out too!  Plus, this will mark the official debut of the Lighthouse Comics T-Shirt!

What?!? But that means I can get 10 comics for £10 (if I include the free ones)!  That’s unreal! 

I know, right.  What a world!

Will the shop be able to stay open despite this mega give-away?

Who knows?!  The uncertainty is exciting!
